Russian WTO Accession - Quantitative Assessments and Policy Papers

Русский

Accession to the WTO will may induce positive changes in Russia’s policies in a very wide range of areas. This section of the website presents results of our quantitative assessments of the impact of  Russian WTO accession and thereby contributes to informed debate on the consequences of WTO accession. We have assessed the macroeconomic and sector impacts of Russian WTO accession, the impact on households and poverty and the impact of telecommunications reform. The first section contains technical papers that include a description of the models. The second set of papers are policy papers that describe the results of the quantitative work in non-technical terms. This section also includes the highly publicized paper on natural gas pricing and a broader perspective on accession. In the future, the site will show results of ongoing work on the impact of WTO accession on the regions of Russia.
