Summary: The Ibero-America Day (IAD), which took place at the beginning of the International Association for Impact Assessment (IAIA) 2011 Puebla Conference, was a celebration of diversity within the region that hosted the event. Nearly two hundred participants from 11 countries in Latin America participated, along with many delegates from Spain and Portugal. This document describes the proceedings of the conference. The first session concerned the environmental assessment process and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). Session 2 discussed the evolution of the impact assessment process in Latin America: legislative framework and institutional capacity. Session 3 was dedicated to presenting case studies of social, cumulative, environmental, strategic and human rights impact assessments in the region. Session 4 was a panel discussion on challenges and opportunities in Latin America for strategic environmental assessment. Session 5 was a Roundtable on establishing a network of Iberoamerican experts on impact evaluation. The remainder of the document contains conclusions and biographies of participants.
