Andrew Burns


ANDREW BURNS is a Lead Economist and Manager of the Global Macroeconomic team in the Development Prospects Group. The team is responsible for the monitoring global economic and financial developments and producing the World Bank's twice annual global forecasts -- released as Global Economic Prospects in the winter and summer.

Before joining the World Bank, Mr. Burns worked with the OECD, where he provided policy advice to the governments of France, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. He also led the evaluation of labor market policies in each of the organization's 30 member countries in the context of the OECD's Jobs Study.

Prior to joining the OECD, Mr. Burns worked at the Economic Council of Canada where he wrote on labor market and macroeconomic issues. Mr. Burns holds degrees from the University of Manitoba and McGill University in Canada.
