Lead Economist
MAURIZIO BUSSOLO MAURIZIO BUSSOLO is a Senior Economist in the Global Trends team of the Development Prospects Group. He works on quantitative analyses of economic policy and development, including studies of the links between trade, growth and poverty. Among his other activities, he monitors and forecasts economic trends in Latin America and contributes to the World Bank's Millennium Development Goals modeling effort. Prior to joining the World Bank in March 2003, he worked as an Economist at the OECD Development Centre, Research Fellow at the Overseas Development Institute in London, Economist at Fedesarrollo, Lecturer at the University Los Andes in Bogota Colombia and Consultant for the Inter American Development Bank and Harvard Institute for International Development. He has taught at and conducted research in collaboration with the Warwick University, Lausanne Ecole Polytechnique, European Centre Jean Monnet "EuroMed" at the University of Catania, postgraduate school Enrico Mattei in Milan. Mr. Bussolo holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Warwick University.
