JOHAN A. MISTIAEN, a Belgian national, is an economist/statistician with the Development Data Group. His main research interests are welfare measurement issues and small area estimation of welfare indicators (popularly known as poverty mapping). His current research focuses on the small area estimation of policy impacts, inequality and poverty measurement.
