Paulo Bastos

Senior Economist

PAULO BASTOS is an Economist at the Development Research Group of the World Bank, Trade and International Integration Unit (DECTI). His research interests include the drivers of firm performance in international markets, the distributional impacts of globalization, and the nexus between migration and trade. His research has appeared in scholarly journals such as the Journal of International Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Industrial Economics and International Journal of Industrial Organization. Prior to joining the World Bank, he held positions at the Research Department of the Inter-American Development Bank, the European Commission and the University of Nottingham. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Nottingham and a B.A. in Economics from the University of Porto.
