CRISTOBAL RIDAO-CANO is an economist at the World Bank, which he joined in 2002 after completing his PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Before joining the core team of the 2007 Word Development Report, he worked on education and social protection issues in Latin America and East Asia. His research focuses on the dynamics of school and work decisions, intra-household bargaining, intergenerational transfers and evaluation of social programs.
