International Policy Workshop | Berlin, Germany
In preparation for the WDR, an International Policy Workshop was held in Berlin, Germany, during December 12–13, 2012. The workshop brought together about 40 academics, civil society representatives, policymakers and development practitioners from the United States, Europe, Africa and Asia to exchange ideas and debate core issues to be addressed in the WDR and provide the authors with inputs from leading experts from across the international research community. The workshop was organized and hosted by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), and the BMZ's convening authority, the Development Policy Forum of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), in collaboration with the World Bank’s WDR 2014 Team.
