Land and Poverty Conference 2013: Registration

Due to overwhelming demand, registration for the conference is closed. Please note that participation in the conference is open to registered participants only. There will be no on-site registration.

Please be advised that it is the responsibility of participants to obtain a visa to enter the United States if applicable. You will need a passport that is valid for no less than three months following your departure from the United States. Please consult the respective United States Consulate regarding United States visa application deadlines and documentation required

Identification Passes and Security Procedures

No one will be allowed to access any World Bank building without a security pass. On the first day of the conference, we suggest that you arrive well in advance of the opening session to complete check-in.

All registered participants must bring a valid photo ID (such as your national passport) to check-in for the conference. Please note that all bags must be scanned upon each entrance to the World Bank.

Each person will be issued with a conference badge and a security pass that will be required to enter all World Bank buildings during the conference. Both will be valid for the duration of the conference, April 8–11.

For identification and security reasons, participants must display their identification passes visibly at all times while on the Bank premises. The loss of a visitor pass must be reported immediately to the registration desk or security personnel.

During the scheduled check-in hours (see below), registered participants will be able to enter the building from the main entrance located at 1818 H Street N.W. (see map).

Official check-in will take place at the following times:

Monday, April 8: 7:00–5:30 P.M.
Tuesday, April 9: 7:30–12:00 P.M.
Wednesday, April 10: 7:30–12:00 P.M.
Thursday, April 11: 7:30–10:00 A.M.

Requests for check-in outside these designated times will be considered on an exceptional basis only.

Participants who must enter the building outside of the official check-in hours (even if they already have their security pass) will need to enter through the Visitor’s Entrance on the corner of 18th Street NW and H Street/Pennsylvania Avenue NW and proceed through the security check. All participants will need to clear security each time they enter the building, and no one can enter the building after 8pm.

Wireless Internet Access

Conference participants will have access to the World Bank wireless network. To access the Guest Wi-Fi service, simply select the "guest" Wi-Fi service from the list of possible services, and enter the password provided at the registration desk.
