Land Governance Assessment Framework meeting Monday, April 18, 2011 Room location: MC C2-131 The 1-day workshop faciliatated discussions on how the roll out of LGAFs through the partnership can link up and add value to ongoing initiatives by core partners for the monitoring and assessment of land governance. During the workshop, participants and global partners in the land governance assessment reviewed implementation experience by country coordinators to highlight potential uses and limitations of the LGAF, identifying issues subject to in-depth technical discussion during a follow-up workshop. The workshop allowed for a determination of priority issues and next steps, including a discussion of how LGAF implementation can respond to these in ways that exploit synergies at country, regional, and possibly global level. From Land Titling to Land Governance: the LGAF content and process Presentation followed by discussion on: i) the need of assessing land sector governance; ii) existing approaches and challenges; iii) the thematic areas and modules; iv) methodology and process to validate results; v) evidence from Pilot cases; vi) lessons learned and next steps.
