What is the Global Financial Development Report?

Asli: It is a new major annual publication of the World Bank. The first issue of the report will be launched on September 17, 2012. The report presents and analyses a broad set of data on financial development around the world. It provides policy recommendations on how to develop sustainable financial sectors that promote economic growth. It builds on a large body of underlying research and analytical work in the World Bank and elsewhere as well as our vast operational expertise. The report is accompanied by a large database on financial development that will be made available online. Some of this is new; some of it already exists at the Bank but will now be made publicly available in one place for the first time.
