Dipak Dasgupta is currently Sector Manager in the Middle East and North Africa Region of the World Bank. From 1997 to 2000, Mr. Dasgupta was Principal Economist and then Lead Economist in the Development Prospects Group, where he task managed the Global Economic Prospects 1998/99: Beyond Financial Crisis. He holds an M.A. in Economics from Cambridge University and a PH.D. in Economics, International Trade and Finance from Cambridge University. Milan Brahmbhatt is currently Lead Economist in the East Asia and the Pacific Region of the World Bank. From 1994-98, Mr. Brahmbhatt work in the International Economic Analysis and Prospects Division of the International Economics Department and later in the Development Economics Prospects Group where he coauthored several chapters of the Global Economic Prospects 1998/99: Beyond Financial Crisis. Prior to joining the World Bank, he worked at DRI/McGraw. Mr. Brahmbhatt holds a BA and MA in micro and macro economics, development economics and econometrics from the London School of Economics. Mustapha Nabli is currently the Chief Economist and Sector Director, Economic Management, Middle East and North Africa Region of the World Bank. From 1997-99, Mr. Nabli was Senior Economic Advisor in the Development Prospects Group and the principle author of the Global Economic Prospects 2001. Prior to joining the World Bank, Mr. Nabli was a Manager of the North Africa Bureau of Economic Studies, the Minister of Planning and Regional Development for the Government of Tunisia, President of the Tunis Stock Exchange, and a Professor at the University of Tunis. He holds a M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California. Elliot J. (Mick) Riordan is a Senior Economist for the Global Trends Team of the Development Prospects Group, providing forecast analysis for the group’s products and publications. He has participated in studies on topics of global importance such as Iraq, and oil prices, which support the Bank’s Regional efforts to better understand the global context. Before joining the Bank, he was Director of International Consulting for the WEFA Group (now Global Insights), and was also involved in foreign exchange advisory work, and large-scale projects in contract consulting. Mick Riordan holds an MSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (1981), and a BSc in International Business from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (1977).
