Global Knowledge Partnership on Migration and Development
Migration has become a defining issue for global development, and it will become even more so in the future. The KNOMAD is a global knowledge partnership on migration and development. This inclusive and multidisciplinary initiative is intended to be a global public good:
- To provide a platform to generate and exchange knowledge
- Generate a menu of policy choices based on evidence and rigorous peer review
- Provide technical assistance to interested sending and receiving countries to pilot projects
The KNOMAD entered its inception phase in May 2012 with a seed grant from the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC). The implementation phase will begin in Spring 2013.
More information on the KNOMAD is available in the World Bank’s People Move Blog.
