The Development Prospects Group publishes two annual flagship publications—Global Economic Prospects in the fall/winter and Global Development Finance in the spring. The Reports include three-year forecasts for the global economy and long-term global scenarios which look ten years into the future. Topical chapters in the each of the publications vary from year to cover topics that are current and central to development and poverty reduction. GEP, for example, has focused on the East Asian crisis and its impact on developing countries, development and the Doha trade agenda, and trade and regionalism. Similarly, past GDF Reports have included chapters on remittances, trade finance and financing infrastructure in developing counties.

The new online publication—Prospects for the Global Economy—was developed as a companion to both flagship publications and will be released in the fall/winter and spring of each year. This interactive publication features: forecast database for all World Bank regions and income groups, including latest macroeconomic data out to 2006; insightful calculators and simulation tools; valuable one-page briefs summarizing countries' external financial position and trade; individual commodity reports and price forecasts; and timely analysis of worldwide economic prospects and risk. Prospects for the Global Economy is also available in French and Spanish.
