New Report on G20: Restoring and Sustaining Growth


June 19, 2012—The report focuses on the global growth agenda and was prepared by World Bank staff as an input to the G20 Los Cabos summit held on June 18-19, 2012. Current risks to stability in the global economy, especially those in the Euro Area, call for timely and firm stabilization actions. However, the report argues, short-term stabilization only buys time and will not produce robust growth and jobs unless accompanied by key structural measures. It calls upon the G20 to pay more attention to reforms that remove structural impediments to growth and to investments that boost productivity.
